Kenya Mara Estate - Anaerobic Natural 96 H
Coming from Mara Estate in Narok, Kenya, this coffee offers a different expression of an origin we usually associate with clean and vibrant washed coffees.
Located near the Masai Mara, Mara Estate is a relatively young coffee farm that has been exploring different processing techniques to bring out more sweetness and fruit character from coffees grown in the area.
For this lot, carefully selected ripe cherries undergo a 96-hour anaerobic natural fermentation in sealed tanks before being slowly dried on raised beds. The extended fermentation brings another layer of fruit and sweetness while still preserving the bright and lively character we love from Kenyan coffees.
In the cup, expect a bright candied lemon acidity followed by juicy green grapes and a clean, lingering sugarcane sweetness. A different side of Kenyan coffee. Vibrant, sweet, and beautifully refreshing.
